We are pleased to extend an invitation to the 8th ISO/TC265 plenary and working group meetings that will be held in Sapporo, Japan.
Sapporo is located in Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan and it is one of the most modern and beautiful cities in Japan. Especially, the night view of Sapporo is acknowledged as one of new three major night views of Japan. Additionally, Sapporo has been noted for a variety of some nice foods, such as crab, fish, lamb meat, and Ramen.
We are looking forward to many of you taking this opportunity to visit Sapporo. We hope participants of meetings to share successful outcomes through fruitful discussions and to enjoy the stay in Sapporo.

CCS (carbon dioxide capture, transportation, and geological storage) is currently expected as a key technology to prevent climate change caused by greenhouse gas emission. ISO/TC265 develops an international standard of CCS. It consists of 20 P-member countries, 8 O-member countries and 7 liaison organizations in the world. The standardization is promised to contribute to dissemination of CCS worldwide and deployment of CCS.

Arriving by Air

The nearest airport to Sapporo city is "NewChitose Airport" which is about
90 minutes flight from Narita and Haneda airport, well-known international airports around Tokyo in Japan.

From New Chitose Airport to the downtown of Sapporo

In order to get to the downtown of Sapporo from New Chitose Airport, you can use JR rail line, bus, taxi, or a rental car. It takes approximately 60 - 80 min. More information can be found on “Detailed Directions”.

From hotels to Sapporo Convention Center

Sapporo Convention Center is located in the southeastern part of "Sapporo Station". Shuttle buses will be prepared for the participants between our recommended hotels and the meeting venue. Sapporo has a highly developed public transportation system and you can also easily access to the venue by subway.

For your convenience, we asked our Travel agency to prepare your accommodation. They have made a block reservation at the following three hotels to participants of the meetings. Their special rates will be applied when you make a hotel reservation for their recommended hotels in their website. Please click “the booking page” and make a reservation through their reservation system.

All participants are kindly asked to register no later than 31 October 2016.
