6th Symposium for Innovative CO2 Membrane Separation Technology - Recent trends of membrane separation technology contributing to the prevention of global warming -, Tokyo, 23 January 2017
COP21 (Paris Agreement) reaffirmed the goal of keeping average warming below 2 degrees Celsius, while also urging parties to "pursue efforts" to limit it to 1.5 degrees. Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) is expected to be one of the important options for global warming measures. Molecular Gate Membrane module Technology Research Association (MGMTRA) is conducting a project entrusted by METI to develop a low-cost innovative CO2 separation membrane for high-pressured gas from Integrated coal Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) etc., which is considered a promising candidate for the efficient coal gasification power generation with CO2 capture ("CO2 Separation Membrane Module practical R&D Project").
In this symposium, we would like to inform people with latest information on CO2 separation by reporting recent results of CO2 separation membrane technologies by MGMTRA, and the overview of the CO2 separation membrane technologies development in overseas.
