From New Chitose Airport to the hotel of
Sapporo downtown

The nearest airport to Sapporo city is New Chitose Airport which is about 90 minutes flight from Narita andHaneda airport, well-known airports around Tokyo in Japan.

By Bus

Route bus

Bus Stop
A route bus goes around main hotels in Sapporo downtown. It takes a little longer than train but you can get off at the nearest bus stop to your hotel.
Note: Going to JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo, JR train may be eaiser as it is directly connected to Sapporo station.
Getting on in the airport
There are two bus stops in the domestic terminal building (1F) and one in the international terminal building (1F) bound for Sapporo downtown.
▶ Domestic terminal building: #14 stop and #22 stop on the following map.
▶ International terminal building: #65 stop on the following map.

Note: There is no bus ticket counter in International Terminal.
Getting off in Sapporo downtown

    #2 “Sapporo Grand Hotel” and walk about 5 minutes to the west.

  3. 3) For JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo

    #1 “Sapporo Station” and walk about 5 minutes to the North.

Every 20 minutes from 8:00 to 24:00
Required Time and Fares
About 80 minutes and 1,030 yen
You can buy a ticket in advance at ticket counters (at the domestic terminal building) or you can pay when you get off. There is no ticket counter at the international building, so you should pay when you get off by cash.

Direct Bus(Faster but not very frequent)

There is a direct bus to Sapporo downtown. It takes 65 minutes but it only runs during the afternoon (12:00 - 17:00) and not very frequent.

By Train (JR)

Train Station

JR New Chitose Airport Station is located on the B1 floor (basement) of domestic terminal building.

Getting on or off

You can take a train for "Sapporo region" or "Otaru region" and get off at Sapporo Station. Please see the Map of Hotels and Bus Stop for the directions to the recommended hotels.

Frequency of service

Every 15 minutes from 8:00 to 23:00

By Taxi

Taxi stand

You can take taxi both from the domestic terminal and from the international terminal. Taxi is usually available at two taxi stands in the domestic terminal building (1F) and one taxi stand in the international terminal building (1F).

By Rental car

Car Rentals counter is located on the first floor of the domestic terminal building. Rental cars cannot be picked up or dropped off at the airport, so you need to go to the car rental companies' office. They offer shuttle services between the airport and their respective offices in Chitose.

It takes about 60 minutes.

890 yen (from “Chitose interchange” to “Sapporo Minami interchange”)

From hotels to Sapporo Convention Center

Shuttle bus will be prepared for the participants. In additon, you can also easily access to the venue by subway, sapporo has a highly developed public transportation system.

By Shuttle Bus

A shuttle bus will be prepared for the participants between recommended hotels and Sapporo Convention Center in the morning and evening. Participants who are not staying at the recommended hotels can also take the bus but need to go to the bus stop at the recommended hotel. Please see the Map of Hotels and Bus Stop for the details.

By Subway

The nearest station to Sapporo Convention Center is Higashi - Sapporo Subway Station of Tozai Line and walk about 10 minutes to Sapporo Convention Center.

From Sapporo Station to Sapporo Convention Center

From Sapporo Subway Station, take Nanboku Line to Odori Station. Change to the subway Tozai Line, and get off at Higashi-Sapporo Station. Exit from Exit 1, and head to your right. Turn right at the second traffic light (look for the Hokkaido Energetic car park), and head straight along the road. You will find the Convention Center in front of you within an 8-min. walk.

Every 5 minutes from 6:00 to 24:00

About 30 minutes (total) and 250 yen.

From Sapporo downtown to New Chitose Airport

By Bus

You can take a bus at #2 and #3 as shown in the Map of Hotels and Bus Stop.
The frequency of service is every 20 minutes from 5:00 to 19:00.

By Train

You can take a train bound for New Chitose Airport at JR Sapporo Station. The frequency of service is every 15 minutes from 6:00 to 22:00.
